AMHERST, N.S. – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers got off to a quick start Saturday night against the South Shore Lumberjacks, taking a 2-0 lead less than eight minutes into the game.
First Period
Cole Waugh scored the first goal of the night at 1:37 into the first period off of passes from Hunter McIntyre and Nick Snow.
Newly acquired defenceman Michal Sivek put the Ramblers up 2-0 at 7:48 into the frame with assists coming from Will Lafford and Jacob Myra.
Second Period
The Ramblers went up 3-0 in the second period off Waugh’s second goal of the night. Caleb Rich assisted on the goal.
The Lumberjacks scored 12:45, and the second period ended with the Ramblers up 3-1.
Third Period
Cole Darrach scored an unassisted goal at 4:56 into the third, giving the Ramblers the 4-1 win.
Goaltending
Ramblers goaltender Matt Williams stopped 36 of the 37 shots he faced, while his teammates had 47 shots on Lumberjacks goaltender Ty Grant.
Game Attendance
Game attendance was 576.
Standings
With the win, the Ramblers remain in second place in the Eastlink South Division with 44 points, eight points behind the Yarmouth Mariners.

The Ramblers host the Lumberjacks again on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Amherst Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
