Mitchell Johnston scored at 2:09 of overtime to lift the Kameron Junior Miners to a 2-1 win over the Liverpool Privateers in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League play Saturday at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre.

Ryan Chisholm also scored for the Junior Miners. Travis Parks replied for the Privateers.

Seth Crowe posted the win in goal, making 18 stops. Keaghan Larade was busy making 40 saves in the loss.

At the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, the Antigonish Junior Bulldogs edged the Strait Pirates 4-3 in a shootout.

Avery Warner paced the Pirates’ offence with two goals, while Gregor Yoelle had a single. Zachary Forsythe, William Kelly and Keegan Gauthier replied for the Bulldogs.

In goal, Cody MacEachern deflected 24 shots in the win. Cody Smith made 32 saves in the loss.

Late Friday in Port Hawkesbury, the Junior Miners edged the Pirates 6-5 in overtime, as Brandon Farrell was the hero in the extra frame. In Antigonish, the Eskasoni Junior Eagles scored a 4-3 overtime victory over the Bulldogs with Kinnon Williams netting the winner.

Sunday, the Privateers doubled the Junior Eagles 6-3.

Ian MacPhee paced Liverpool with two goals, while Connor Barnhill, Kayden Nickerson, Matt Ormon and Tyler Lawson added singles. Thomas Noel Simon, Benjamin Gillis and Antle Denny scored for Eskasoni.

Gavin McGinn stopped 26 pucks for the win. Brad Leblanc and Alexander Denny combined to make 25 saves in the loss.
