SYDNEY, N.S. — A number of Cape Breton connections were recently traded in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.

On Jan. 8, the Strait Pirates acquired the rights to Luke MacLean from the East Hants Penguins for the Pirates' 2020-21 waiver draft pick.

Last Friday, the Valley Maple Leafs traded the junior 'B' rights to forward Logan Timmons of Port Hawkesbury to the Pictou County Scotians for their 2020-21 waiver pick, along with the rights to Tyler Long and future considerations.

Later in the day on Friday, the Antigonish AA Munro Jr. Bulldogs traded the 2019-20 playing rights to Ewan MacDonald, a former Cape Breton West Islander and current property of the Cape Breton Eagles, to Pictou County.

As part of the trade, the Scotians will return the rights to MacDonald to the Bulldogs on Aug. 1, 2020.

The final trade on Friday saw the Cole Harbour Colts ship the playing rights of Lingan's Connor Campbell to the Eskasoni Eagles for the Eagles' 2020-21 waiver draft pick.
