AMHERST – Caleb Rich had a five-point game, two goals and three assists, as the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers beat the South Shore Lumberjacks 7-2 Wednesday night at Amherst Stadium.

First Period

Nick Snow and Max Boudreau gave the Ramblers at 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

Rich assisted on both goals, with Cole Waugh adding an assist on the Snow goal, and Jacob Myra helping out on Boudreau’s goal.

Second Period

South Shore made a 2-1 game early in the second, but by the end of the period the Ramblers pulled away by a score of 5-1.

Alex Lafreniere scored with assists from Stephen Fox and Casey Fox.

Casey Fox scored with assistance from Dawson Grenier and Stephen Fox, and then Rich scored with a pass from Waugh.

Third Period

Michal Sivek put the Ramblers up 6-1 early in the third with passes from Waugh and Rich.

South Shore made a 6-2 game, when Rich scored his second of the night off feeds from Snow and Waugh.

Goaltending

Matt Williams stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced playing in the Ramblers net, while his teammates had 39 shots on the Lumberjacks net.

Attendance

Game attendance was 450.

Upcoming Games

The Ramblers are in Yarmouth Friday night for a 7:30 contest against the Mariners.

They return home Saturday to host the Summerside Western Capitals at 7 p.m.
