AMHERST – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers squandered a 5-1 lead to lose 6-5 in a shootout to the Valley Wildcats Saturday night at Amherst Stadium.
First Period
The Ramblers took a 2-1 lead in the first of goals from Jacob Myra and Felix LeBlanc.
Alex Beaulieu and Dawson Grenier assisted on the Myra Goal, and Tayden Woods and McEwan assisted on the LeBlanc goal.
Second Period
The Blues went up 5-1 in the in the second before the Valley scored two of their own, making it a 5-3 game.
Liam Conrad scored the first two in the second period to give the Ramblers a 4-1 lead, and Layton Parsons gave the Ramblers a 5-1 lead off a feed from Lucas Sangster.
Brady Griffin-Hefford assisted on Conrad’s first goal, and Griffin-Hefford and Jordan King assisted on Conrad’s second goal.
Third Period
The Valley scored two early goals in the third, one at 1:27, and the other at 3:04, to tie the game 5-5.

No scoring.

The Ramblers outshot the Wildcats 40-30.
Julian Galloway played in net for the Ramblers and Jacob Stewart for the Wildcats.

Game attendance at Amherst Stadium was 641.
Standings
With the loss the Ramblers are third in the Eastlink South Division with 23 points, three points behind the Yarmouth Mariners, and nine points behind the South Shore Lumberjacks.
They are one point up on the Truro Bearcats, who have 22 points.
