AMHERST – After beating the Timberwolves 7-6 Friday night in Miramichi, the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers returned home Saturday night and lost 4-3 to the Edmunston Blizzard, the top team in the Maritime Hockey League.

Ramblers vs. Blizzard

First Period

The Ramblers scored the first goal of the game when Will Lafford scored at 11:46 into the first period off passes from Jordan King and Liam Conrad.

The period ended with the Blizzard up 2-1.

Second Period

Layton Parsons tied the game 2-2 at 1:27 into the second period off passes from Dawson Grenier and King.

The period ended with the Blizzard up 4-2.

Third Period

King scored the only goal of the third period, with assists from Will Bower and Brady Griffin-Hefford, and the game ended 4-3 Blizzard.

Goaltending

The Ramblers outshot the Blizzard 38-33, with Joel Goguen playing in net for the Ramblers.

Attendance

Game attendance was 750.

Ramblers vs. Timberwolves

The Ramblers beat the Timberwolves 41-23 Friday night in Miramichi, and beat them 7-6.

Bower led the Ramblers with two goals and three assists, Jake Barter had two goals and two assists, and Conrad scored one goal and two assists.

Lafford and Caleb Rich added one goal each for the Ramblers.

Felix LeBlanc, Bradley Dawe, Cole Waugh, Griffin-Hefford, Lucas Sangster, and King had one assist each.

Goguen played in net for the Ramblers.

Game attendance was 558.

Standings

The Ramblers remain in second place in the Eastlink South Division with 62 points, two points ahead of the South Shore Lumberjacks and seven points behind the Yarmouth Mariners.

The Truro Bearcats are fourth in the division with 54 points.

Upcoming Games

The Ramblers play their final three games of the regulars season this week.

On Wednesday, they’re in Campbellton to play the Tigers, on Friday they’re in Truro, and on Saturday they’re at Amherst Stadium for their final game of the regular season. They host the Pictou County Weeks Crushers.
