MEMRAMCOOK, N.B. — Kyler Edwards had three goals and an assist to lift the Cumberland Penguins to a 7-5 win over the Gusto Knights to claim the Atlantic Hockey Group Peewee Tier 2 championship on May 19.
Connor Masters, Ryan Oderkirk, Chaz Lockhart and Lucas Hurley each scored one goal while Hurley, Ben Davis and Avery Brown each had two assists and Edwards and Brayden Brown each had single assists.
The win wrapped up a perfect spring season for the Penguins, who went undefeated through the series.
Patrick Parent and Garrett Savoie each had two goals for the Knights and Lucas Stuart scored once.
Earlier in the day, the Penguins defeated the Gusto Kings 8-3 with Mandel Nickerson scoring three goals and Kyler Edwards adding two. Lucas Hurley, Chaz Lockhart and Avery Brown each scored once.
Connor Masters had two assists with Austin Dickie, Cohen Ingraham, Cassie Black, Tucker Legere, Avery Brown and Lucas Hurley each adding one assist.
Theo Godin, Ben Gray and Ian Ross each scored once for the Kings.
