PARRSBORO - The Parrsboro Figure Skating Club has just finished for the season with over 60 members participating in club programming this year.

The year started with the addition of parent and tot, adult, and late beginner groups as well as as dance session.

After the Christmas Celtic Show the new year began with more registration, StarSkate test days and several competitions including Amherst Fest and provincials.

At provincials, the Pre-Novice Synchro Team brought home bronze medals as well as having two individuals taking part in various elements (Nicole Tower and Felicia Rushton). Rushton brought home a gold in Pre-Preliminary Freestyle.

The year ended with the musical "CATS Plus" and awards were presented. Canskater of the Year for enthusiam and spirit went to Jordan Benjamin, Canskater Champions of the Year for their pursuit of excellence, attitude and joy of skating went to Emma Goodwin and Taylor Dinaut, the Most Improved Skater Award went to Bobbie Lattie, Coach of the Year was Kelsea Gillis and the Terri Leopold Award was presented to Kelsea Gillis.

The Appreciation Award was given to Ross Clark while Martina Yorke was nominated for a section coaching award. Nicole Tower accepted the award for Most StarSkate tests passed.
