Aerials gymnasts win at Alta-mate meet

AMHERST, N.S. – Aerials Gymnastics Club gymnasts recently competed at the 2019 ALTA-mate competition at the Alta Gymnastics Club in Halifax.

Olivia Silvea won gold at the meet, finishing first on every apparatus, and first overall in her division.

“Olivia did great at the Alta meet, and she worked really, really hard,” said Aerials coach Michelle Landry.

Landry says all the girls are improving.

“Everybody has their strengths. Jessica does really well on bars, and Emma and Kirsten to well on beam, but they’re all working hard and having fun and that’s the main thing,” said Landry.

Results are as follows:

Olivia Silvea - First on everything, and first overall

Kirsten Lawrence - 6th on vault, bars, and floor, 3rd on beam, and 6th overall

Emma Sjanic – 6th on vault, and 8th on beam

Jessica Landry – 4th on bars

Juliana LeBlanc – 6th on beam and floor

Marissa LeBlanc – 7th on vault, and 7th on bars

Sawyer Stiles – 4 on Vault, and 7th on floor
