AMHERST – Mackenzie Comeau tripled and doubled and Mike Farrell homered as the Amherst Athletics defeated the Halifax Mets 13-7 in Bluenose Midget AA Baseball League action recently in Amherst.
Cal Hoeg doubled and singled and Cole Stevens doubled with Jackson Colborne, Zach Boudreau, Ryan Power, Brandon Hicks and Graden Chitty each adding singles.
Cole Stevens went four innings, giving up three walks and five hits while striking out four. Brandon Hicks earned the win in three innings of work. He struck out seven, walked one and struck out two.
In the opener, Cal Hoeg doubled and singled and Brandon Hicks and Zach Boudreau singled twice as Amherst won 16-3.
Jackson Comeau, Mike Farrell and Riley Girouard each singled once.
Mackenzie Comeau earned the pitching win, giving up four walks and six hits and striking out six.
