STELLARTON, N.S. — Jackson Comeau had three singles and three pitchers combined on a six-hitter as the Amherst Athletics defeated the Pictou County Orioles 8-3 in Bluenose Midget AA Baseball League action on June 8 in Stellarton.

Cal Hoeg, Julian MacDonald and Rily Girouard each singled twice in the win while Cal Hoeg hit two singles and a double for Amherst, which claimed the opening game of the doubleheader 10-2.

Cole Stevens, Graden Chitty, Jayden Matheson, Matthew Hunter and Jeremiah Martin each singled once.

Cole Stevens gave up two hits, walked three and struck out three in three innings of work while Cal Hoeg gave up three hits in three innings, while striking out five and walking five. Brandon Hicks threw one inning, striking out two and walking no one while giving up one hit.

In the opener, Graden Chitty went six innings, giving up seven hits, walking three and striking out 11. Brandon Hicks pitched one inning, giving up one hit and walking one.

Cal Hoeg hit two singles with Jackson Comeau, Cole Stevens, Jayden Matheson, Julian MacDonald, Brandon Hicks, Brandon Crowe and Jeremiah Martin each hitting one single.
