AMHERST – Mackenzie Comeau doubled and singled and Graden Chitty went the distance on the mound, striking out 15, as the Amherst Athletics defeated the Halifax Mets 10-0 in Bluenose Midget AA Baseball League action on Sunday.
Mike Farrell doubled and Cole Stevens, Brady Crowe and Brandon Hicks each singled once.
Chitty gave up no hits and walked three.
In the second game, Mackenzie Comeau, Cole Stevens and Cal Hoeg pitched in a 5-4 win over Halifax.
Jackson Comeau tripled, Josh Calder doubled and Mackenzie Comeau singled twice. Cole Stevens, Graden Chitty and Zach Boudreau each singled.
Amherst returns to action on Sunday, playing a doubleheader in Kentville.
