AMHERST, N.S. — The Amherst Athletics continue to roll through the Bluenose picking up four more wins in Midget AA league action.

Graden Chitty, Cole Stevens and Jackson Comeau doubled and singled and Cal Hoeg tripled once and singled three times as the Athletics defeated the Clark’s Harbour Foggies 15-3 on July 14.

Julian MacDonald added three singles, Brady Crowe had two singles and Jackson Colborne, Riley Girouard, Mike Farrell, Brandon Hicks and Matthew Hunter each singled once in the win while Graden Chitty and Brandon Hicks shared the pitching win.

They gave up two hits over seven innings, walking two and striking out 15.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Amherst rallied from an early deficit with an eight-run sixth inning in a 9-5 win.

Cole Stevens singled and doubled, Cal Hoeg doubled and Jackson Colborne, Graden Chitty, Mike Farrell and Brandon Hicks each singled in the win.

Cal Hoeg and Cal Stevens shared the mound duties giving up seven hits, walking four and striking out eight.

On July 13, the Athletics were in Weymouth and swept both ends of a doubleheader.

In the opener, Cal Hoeg and Graden Chitty each doubled and singled, Brady Crowe hit three singles and Jackson Comeau singled twice in a 19-0 win.

Cole Stevens, Julian MacDonald and Riley Girouard each singled once.

Brandon Hicks and Jackson Comeau each pitched for Amherst, giving up just one hit while walking no one and striking out nine.

In the second game. Jackson Comeau hit four doubles and Cole Stevens and Cal Hoeg each hit three singles in a 19-9 win.

Jackson Colborne, Graden Chitty and Brandon Hicks each hit two singles and Julian MacDonald singled once.

Matt Hunter, Julian MacDonald, Graden Chitty, Cal Hoeg and Cole Stevens pitched for Amherst.
