SACKVILLE, N.B. – Major Junior hockey’s most coveted trophy is coming to Sackville.
Sackville’s Ethan Crossman, a member of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, which captured its first-ever Memorial Cup title this spring after defeating the Regina Pats 3-0 in the finals, will be bringing the Memorial Cup to town on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Residents are invited to come out to the Tantramar civic centre from 4:30-6 p.m. to get a photo with the Cup or a member of the Titan, grab an autograph, check out the swag that will be available to purchase, or enter your name for same great draw prizes for the kids. This will be the Cup’s only Maritime visit outside of Bathurst.
The Memorial Cup is a junior ice hockey club championship trophy awarded annually to the Canadian Hockey League champion. It is awarded following a four-team, round-robin tournament between a host team and the champions of the CHL's three member leagues: the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Titan is one of 18 teams in the QMJHL.
