A pair of Cape Breton soccer players were named AUS athletes of the week on Tuesday.
Capers striker Alliyah Rowe won the women's award after being named MVP of the AUS championship in Sydney on the weekend. The first-year player scored two goals and set up another in CBU's 3-2 title victory over the Acadia Axewomen.
Striker Charlie Waters received the men's honour after he too was named the championship MVP. He scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 semifinal victory over the Saint Mary's Huskies and then found the net again in Cape Breton's 2-0 championship win against the St. Francis Xavier X-Men.
