AMHERST, N.S. – The Amherst Weston Athletics won both their games of a doubleheader against the Pictou County Albions on July 13, at Robb’s Complex in Amherst.

GAME 1

The Athletics won their first game 4-3 and went through three pitchers in the game.

Andrew Skinner pitched four innings, allowing three runs off of five hits, three walks and one strikeout.

Brandon Greeno pitched three innings, allowing one hit and three walks, and striking out three batters.

Adam MacAloney pitched one inning, striking out one batter.

Logan Dowe scored twice and had one hit, Nate Stone scored once and had two hits, and Brad Murray scored once in the 4-3 win.

Justin Morton, Gus Tupper, MacAloney, and Greeno added one hit each.

GAME 2

The Athletics won the second game 16-1.

Logan Dowe and Andrew Skinner scored three times each, Justin Morton, Morgan Jobes and Cody Sutton scored twice, and Gus Tupper, Mats Stone, Adam MacAloney, and Nate Stone scored once each.

Dowe and MacAloney had three hits each, Skinner, Nate Stone, Jobes and Cody Sutton hat two hits each, and Morton, and Tupper had one hit.

STANDINGS

With the two wins, Amherst has eight wins and six losses on the season, putting them in third place in the seven-team league.

UPCOMING GAMES

The Athletics are at home again this coming Sunday, July 7, when they host the Windsor Knights at Robb’s Complex. Game time is 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
