AMHERST – The Amherst Regional High School JV Vikings hosted their Tip Off Basketball Tournament this weekend.
Schools that participated in the six-team tournament were: ARHS, NCHS (North Colchester), NNEC (North Nova), CEC (Cobequid), NRHS (Northumberland), Moncton.
Results are as follows:
Amherst vs. North Colchester
They opened the tournament Friday at 3:30 p.m. with a 55-36 loss to the North Colchester High School Mustangs.
Rohin McKenney scored 10 points, Jagger Vandewiel scored seven, Jay Gilroy and Kolby Jardine scored six each, Cameron MacLeod five, and Rajan McKenney two.
Amherst vs. North Nova
Their second game of the tournament was Friday at 730 p.m., a 66-62 loss to the North Nova Education Centre Gryphons.
Rohin McKenney and Jardine scored 16 points each, Rajan McKenney scored eight, Vandewiel scored five, Isaac VanSnick four, Gilroy and Aaron Froese scored three each, Christian Goldie, MacLeod and Mika Porter scored two each, and Daniel Panizo scored one point.
Amherst vs. Northumberland
Their final game of the tournament was a 67-62 loss to the Northumberland Regional High School Nighthawks.
Rohin McKenney scored 18 points in the loss, Jardine scored 10, Vandewiel and Gilroy scored nine each, and VanSnick scored eight. Also scoring was Goldie, Rajan McKenney, and MacLeod scored two each.
