Waugh, Fox score hat tricks in Ramblers win over Mariners

AMHERST, N.S. – Cole Waugh and Casey Fox scored three goals each in the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers 7-4 win over the Yarmouth Mariners Saturday night at Amherst Stadium.

Caleb Rich added the Ramblers seventh goal of the night, plus three assists.

Nick Snow and Matt Green added two assists each, with Waugh, Bradley Dawe, Aidan McFarland, Cole Darrach and Stephen Fox adding one assist each.

Goaltending

Matt Williams stopped 39 of the 43 shots he faced in net for the Ramblers, while his teammates had 40 shots on the Mariners net.

Attendance

Saturday night's attendance was 825.

Standings

With the win, the Ramblers have 69 points, only one point behind the Mariners, who sit atop the Eastlink South Division.

Home Wins

The Ramblers have the best home record in the Maritime Hockey League.

They’ve won 20 of their 24 home games this season. The last time the Ramblers lost at home was Dec. 8, a 6-4 loss to the Mariners.

Since then they have won 11 straight home games, outscoring their opponents 58-22.

The Ramblers are on the road Friday to play the South Shore Lumberjacks.

They play their last home game of the regular season against the Truro Bearcats on Saturday at 7 p.m.
