Smith scores six goals, forcing a Game 3 in AAHL action

AMHERST, N.S. – Ryan Smith scored six goals for Colson Overhead Doors in their 6-4 win over J&K Electric Monday night at Amherst Stadium.

Down 0-1 in their Amherst Adult Hockey League championship best-of-three series, the game was a must-win for the Doors.

J&K nearly tied the game 5-5 but the puck rang off the post before Smith put his team up 6-4 on an empty-net goal.

Three of Smith’s six goals were unassisted, Jonathan DeGraaf had three assists, Ryan Reynolds two assists, and Geoff Ryan one assist.

Chuck Chandler and Matt Cormier scored one goal and two assists each for J&K, with Malcolm Estabrooks and David Atkinson adding one goal each. Mark Bennett added two assists and Rob Scott one.

Jarrett Munn got the win in goal and Remi Thomas the loss.

Each team had one penalty, both in the third period.

With the series tied 1-1, Game 3, the final game of the AAHL season, starts Friday at 9:15 at Amherst Stadium.
