Ramblers lose to Blizzard, Lumberjacks

AMHERST, N.S. – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers lost 4-1 to the Edmundston Blizzard Saturday night at Amherst Stadium.

Amherst’s lone goal came off the stick of Spencer Smith at 13:48 into the third period off assists from Cole Waugh and Caleb Rich.

Edmundston scored once in the first period, once in the second, twice in the third, with their final goal hitting the empty net.

Tyler Caseley stopped 36 of the 39 shots he faced while his teammates had 35 shots on Edmundston goaltender Ewan MacDonald.

On Friday night the Ramblers were at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre where they lost 9-5 to the South Shore Lumberjacks.

The Lumberjacks led the Ramblers 7-1 before the Ramblers scored four straight goals in the third period, making it a 7-5 game. The Lumberjacks then scored two empty netters at the end of the game.

Ryan Penny scored two goals, with Alex Wynter, Alex Lafreniere and Cole Waugh adding one goal each.

Rich, Bradley Dawe, and Stephen Fox added two assists each, and Smith, Julien Hebert, Max Boudreau, and Ben Williams added one assist each.

Standings

With the two losses, the Ramblers currently stand in fourth place in the Eastlink South Division with four points and a record of 2-4.

South Shore and Yarmouth lead the division with 10 points each.

Upcoming Games

The Ramblers host the Truro Bearcats next Saturday at 7 p.m.

They travel to Yarmouth Oct. 11 and return home Oct. 12 and 14 for games against the Grand Falls Rapids and the Valley Wildcats respectively.
