AMHERST – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers handled the Woodstock Slammers with ease Saturday night at Amherst Stadium, beating them 7-1.

The Ramblers scored two of their seven goals in the first period, and five in the second period.

Liam Conrad scored two goals and one assist, Will Bower and Jordan King scored one goal and two assists each, and Caleb Rich scored one goal and one assist.

Cole Waugh and Will Lafford added one goal each, Brady Griffin-Hefford had two assists, and Brock McEwen scored one assist.

Joel Goguen played in net for the Ramblers, stopping 18 of 19 shots. His teammates had 43 shots on Slammers goaltender Liam MacDonald, including 25 shots in the second period.

Game attendance was 525.

Ramblers vs. Bearcats

The Ramblers were in Truro Friday night where they lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Bearcats.

Truro scored two goals in the first period, and Amherst scored two goals in the second. There was no scoring in the third period.

Griffin-Hefford and Liam Conrad scored for the Ramblers. Layton Parsons and Bower assisted on Griffin-Hefford’s goal, and Griffin-Hefford and Dawson Grenier assisted on Conrad’s goal.

Goguen stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced. Kevin Resop stopped 21 of 23 Ramblers shots.

Game attendance was 930.

Upcoming Game – Ramblers vs. Timberwolves

The Ramblers host the Heritage Classic Monday at 2 p.m. when they face off against the Miramichi Timberwolves at 2 p.m. The game is part of the 4th Annual Amherst Winter Carnival.
