Colson ties AAHL playoff series with J&K

AMHERST – Never count Colson Overhead Doors out.

Down 1-0 in the best-of-three series, the No. 4 Colson Overhead Doors beat No. 1 J&K Electric 5-2 during Amherst Adult Hockey League action Tuesday night at Amherst Stadium, tying the series 1-1.

Phil Farrow scored two goals and two assists, Russell Scott two goals and one assist, and Bill Jobes added one goal. Also assisting for Colson was Mark Black with two assists, and Brad Linkletter, Tim Ripley and Luke McSorely added one assist each.

Kurtis Langille scored one goal and one assist for J&K, Dave Atkinson scored one goal, and Chuck Chandler and Ryan Smith had one assist each.

J&K outshot Colson 33-21, with Kristy Brown facing 33 shots in net for Colson, and Remi Thomas facing 21 shots in net for J&K.

Maltby Sports vs. Bluewave Energy

Maltby Sports advanced to the championship series with a 7-4 win over Bluewave Energy in Tuesday’s first matchup of the night, taking their best-of-three series 2-0.

Jordie Shaw led Maltby with three goals and one assist, Jon Tattrie added one goal and one assist, and Chris Sproul, Chris Dwyer, and Corey Robichaud added one goal each. Aaron Dobson and Ian McCarthy had one assist each.

Malcolm Estabrooks had two goals and one assist for Bluewave, Marshall MacDonald added one goal and one assist, Lucas Hurley scored one goal, and Joel Stone added an assist.

Jarret Munn got the win in goal for Maltby, Justin Brown the loss.
