SPRINGHILL - The Charlie Bourgeois Hockey School will conduct its first ever fall skills program at the Richard Calder Arena in Springhill from Aug. 31 to Sept. 30.

The camp will be offered to players ages six to 16 and will be geared for players of various skill levels. Having just celebrated its 20th anniversary the Charlie Bourgeois Hockey School is recognized as the leader in providing young male and female hockey players with great hockey programs. A division of the Atlantic Hockey Group, the school has always taken the lead in offering a variety of programs to meet the needs of players of all ages and levels of skills. Director Charlie Bourgeois, a former NHL player, brings more than 12 years of pro hockey experience. In his eight-year pro career, he played for the Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues and the Hartford Whalers. He has also coached in the AHL and at the University of Moncton, winning the Atlantic championship in 2005. The staff will also be comprised of head instructor and Springhill native James Legere, who brings a tremendous amount of experience to the program. Legere has coached in Cole Harbour for the last 20 years and this year will join the coaching staff of the Cumberland County Cool Blues. Other instructors will include Lindsay Taylor, one of the most decorated female hockey players ever to come out of Atlantic Canada, and members of the Cool Blues.
