Burt beats Lumberjacks with four goals

AMHERST, N.S. – Robbie Burt had a four-goal night for the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers in their 4-1 win over the South Shore Lumberjacks Saturday night at Amherst Stadium.

Burt scored two goals in the first period and two goals in the third.

His first goal came off a feed from Stephen Fox, and his second goal came off assists from Max Boudreau and Cole Waugh, giving the Ramblers a 2-0 lead heading into the second period.

Their was no scoring in the second period.

With the score 2-1, Burt scored an unassisted goal with five minutes remaining in the game, and scored his fourth of the night on an empty-netter off passes from Cole Waugh and Alex Wynter.

The Ramblers outshot the Lumberjacks 29-19.

Matthew Normore played in net for the Ramblers, and Morgan Kini for the Lumberjacks.

Ramblers vs. Wildcats

The Ramblers were also at home Friday night where they scored a 5-2 win over the Valley Wildcats.

Caleb Rich scored two goals for the Ramblers, and Cole Darrach, Waugh and Fox scored one goal each.

Boudreau and Wynter added two assists each, and Rich, Burt, Fox, Waugh, and Jason Gallant scored one assist each.

The Ramblers outshot the Wildcats 34-19. Josh Ward played in net for the Ramblers, and Kyle McCarthy played in net for the Wildcats.

Standings

The two wins vaulted the Ramblers into third place in the Eastlink South Division with37 points.

The Yarmouth Mariners lead the division with 47 points, the Pictou County Weeks Crushers are second with 38 points, and the Ramblers and Lumberjacks both have 37 points.

Upcoming Games

The Ramblers host the Mariners Friday at Amherst Stadium, and then travel to New Glasgow Saturday night to play the Weeks Crushers.
