Blues host Bulldogs tonight in Springhill

SPRINGHILL – The Cumberland County Blues are back on the ice in Springhill after nearly a month away.

They return to the ice tonight at 7:30 to host the Antigonish Bulldogs.

Their last home game was Dec. 15, a game they lost 7-2 to the Pictou County Scotians.

Blues vs. Blazers

The Blues were in Lower Sackville Monday night where they lost 11-1 to the Blazers.

Landen Clarke scored the lone Cumberland County Blues goal, and Brendan Stone, an associated player called up from the Cumberland/Colchester, Junior C Colts, assisted on the Clarke goal.

Jaxson Maloney played in net for the Blues. He stopped 56 of the 67 shots he faced, while his teammates had 30 shots on Sackville goaltender Brendan Hirtle.

Standings

The Blues have one win in 25 games this season, leaving them at the bottom of the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League with three points.

The Bulldogs go into Friday’s game with 11 wins in 25 games. They are in third place in the Sid Rowe Division with 24 points.

Point Leaders

Chad Miller leads the Blues with 19 points, nine goals and 10 assists in 21 games.

Rueben MacKenzie is second with 17 points, 10 goals and seven assists in 25 games.

Alex Griffiths is third on the point board with 16 points, 12 goals and four assists in 23 games.
