The Fundy U18 girls who were New Brunswick ESL regular season champions, are a win away from being the league's playoff champions following a 1-0 win over Kent North on Wednesday.

Fundy had more than 10 quality scoring changes in the first half, but were unable to beat the Kent North keeper until Lucy Scott hit a well struck ball low into the corner of the net.

Fundy will now host the ESL championship game on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at ARHS.

The club began its playoff run by defeating eighth-place Shediac team 6-1 at home on Monday.

Goal scorers for Fundy were Lucy Scott and Brianna Worwick with two each and Railyn Cann, Jenna Gower.

The U18G also secured a spot in the Nova Scotia B provincials by travelling to the Valley on Sunday, Aug 18 defeating Upper County 5-2.

Fundy will now travel to Sydney during the Aug. 23 to 25 weekend and in their first game take on Valley champion West Nova Fuels who Fundy lost in the gold medal game at last year’s 2018 provincials.
