Team Phillips wins women’s curling club title in Amherst

AMHERST, N.S. – Team Phillips of the CFB Halifax Curling Club won the 2019 Nova Scotia Women’s Club Championship at the Amherst Curling Club on March 3.

Team Phillips won the title with an 8-5 win over Team Harrison of the Bluenose Curling Club of New Glasgow.

The women’s club champions; Tanya Philips, Christine Keddy, Angela Pettipas, and Heather Whiteway, will represent Nova Scotia at the 2019 Canadian Curling Club Championship Nov. 25 to 30, at a venue that is yet to be determined.

“On behalf of our team we thank you. This was a tremendous experience, it was fantastic,” said Phillips after the win. “Curling is about friendship as much as it is about curling, and it was great playing Team Harrison in the final. It was a lot of fun.”

She also thanked the ice-makers at the Amherst Curling Club.

“I thank you so much. The ice was fantastic.”
