AMHERST, N.S. — Phoenix Remington hit a home run to right centerfield and doubled as the Carter’s Cresting Cubs defeated the Lions 7-3 in Amherst Little League Baseball A system action on Monday.
Ryan Wilson singled and doubled while Jaxon Reynolds and Sawyer Harvey each singled once for the Cubs. Ryan Oderkirk tripled for the Lions with Nathaniel Noiles and Colton Hachey each adding singles.
Jaxon Reynolds earned the win for the Cubs with Ryan Wilson and Sawyer Harvey also pitching. They gave up four hits, walked six and struck out four. Owen Wood and Ethan Fraser pitched for the Lions. They gave up six hits, walked 11 and struck out 12.
In other action Monday, the Mixers nipped the Y’s Guys 5-4, building up an early 4-1 lead and then holding off a late rally.
Mandel Nickerson singled and tripled for the Mixers while Cole O’Brien and Carter Lusby each singled once. Mason Sloan hit a two-run home run in the fifth to go with a single while Connor MacDougall and Caleb Oulton each singled.
Mandel Nickerson went the distance for the Mixers, giving up four hits, walking three and striking our 14. Nick Atkinson and Mason Sloan pitched for the Y’s Guys. They gave up four hits, walked eight and struck out eight.
In action on June 12, Sawyer Harvey and Connor Hunter each tripled and singled as the Cubs defeated the Y’s Guys 13-5.
Jaxon Reynolds singled and doubled, Will Allen doubled and Phoenix Remington singled. Jackson Stevens singled and Nick Atkinson tripled for the Y’s Guys.
Jaxon Reynolds gave up two hits for the Cubs, walked six and struck out eight. Caleb Oulton, Chase Livingston and Aaden McAloney pitched for the Y’s Guys. They gave up nine hits, walked nine and struck out 11.
Ethan Fraser gave up one hit in six innings as the Lions defeated the Mixers 5-3. Fraser walked two and and struck out 11. Mandel Nickerson and Hunter Ripley pitched for the Mixers. They gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 14.

On June 10, Nolan McNally threw a one-hitter and hit a single, double and home run as the Lions defeated the Y’s Guys 10-0. He walked two and struck out 18. Aaden McAloney, Chase Livingston and Caleb Oulton pitched for the Y’s Guys. They gave up 13 hits, walked four and struck out nine.
Nathaniel Noiles had a double and single and Ethan Fraser hit a single and a triple for the Lions. Ryan Oderkirk singled and doubled, Rylan Fraser tripled and Colton Hachey singled. Mason Sloan singled for the Y’s Guys.
Sawyer Harvey tripled twice and singled, Phoenix Remington singled twice and doubled and Connor Hunter, Cohen Ingraham and Jaxon Reynolds each singled twice as the Cubs defeated the Mixers 19-1.
Ryan Wilson tripled and Will Allen singled for the Cubs while Mandel Nickerson singled twice for the Mixers.
Phoenix Remington gave up two hits and four walks while striking out 17 for the Cubs. Evan Gray, Mandel Nickerson and Kobe Reid gave up 14 hits, walked six and struck out six for the Mixers.
