Blues lose to Penguins, host Bulldogs tonight

SPRINGHILL – The Cumberland County Blues lost 6-4 to the Penguins Friday night in East Hants.

Down 3-0 after the first period, the Blues fought back in the second period tying the game 3-3.

Reuben MacKenzie scored two goals and Chad Miller scored one.

Madison Colford and Brody Deegan assisted on MacKenzie’s first goal and Deegan and Kansas Hart assisted on his second goal.

Miller’s goal was unassisted.

The Penguins outscored the Blues 3-1 in the third period.

Colford scored n the power play off passes from Hart and Mitchell O’Donnell.

Trent Wilkie stopped 39 of the 45 shots he faced, and the Blues had 19 shots on the Penguins Brent Walters.

The Blues are home tonight (Sunday), to host the Antigonish Bulldogs.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
