Mixers vs. Lions in championship series starting Monday

AMHERST – The Amherst Little League championship series is set.

The Casey Concrete Mixers and the Lions will mix it up in the championship series, and the Carter’s Cresting Cubs and the Y’s Guys will play in the consolation series.

The series matchups were set Wednesday night after the Lions beat the Y’s Guys 18-0 and the Mixers beat the Cubs 14-0, taking their best-of-three, semi-final series’ 2-0.

Aidan McBurnie pitches six innings for the Mixers in their win over the Cubs.

McBurnie struck out 15 batters, giving up no hits and four walks.

Burke Beed led the Mixers batters with two triples, one single, and five RBI’s.

Hayden Crocket added one triple and one single, and McBurnie, Connor Obrien, Jackson Reed and Caleb Campbell hit on single each.

Sawyer Harvey pitched four innings for the Cubs, and Jaxon Reynolds pitched two innings.

They combined to strike out seven batters, while giving up 10 hits and eight walks.

Lions vs. Y’s Guys

Nolan McNally pitched for the Lions, striking out 18 batters, and giving up one hit and one walk.

Kyler Edwards hit three doubles and one single for the Lions, McNally hit two doubles and one single, Nathaniel Noiles hit on double, Connor Masters hit two singles, and Ryan Oderkirk hit one single.

Aiden MacAloney, pitched four innings for the Y’s Guys, and Caleb Oulton and Mason Sloan pitched one inning each.

They combined to strike out five batters, and gave up 11 hits and 15 walks.

Oulton got the lone hit for the Y’s Guys; a double.

The championship and consolation series begin Monday night at 6 p.m.
