Beed hits home run in Mixers win over Y’s Guys

AMHERST, NS – Amherst Little League A system baseball continued with four games this week, two on Monday and two on Wednesday.

Wednesday

On the Sonny Foster field, it was the Casey Concrete Mixers beating the Y’s Guys 9-1.

Hayden Crocket pitched five innings for the Mixers, and Mandel Nickerson one inning. They combined to give up five hits no walks, and struck out 12 batters.

Burke Beed led the Mixers with a home run and one single, Nickerson hit a double and a single, and Connor O’Brien and Nate Arsenault hit one single each.

O’Brien and Crocket scored two RBI’s each and Beed, Nickerson, Arsenault and Jackson Reid scored one RBI each.

Ashton Wilcox pitched for the Y’s Guys, giving up six hits, one walk, and striking out three batters.

Wilcox, Ashton VanSnick, Jesse Goodwin and Caleb Oulton hit one single each, with Oulton scoring an RBI.

On Wednesday, the Lions beat the Carter’s Cresting Cubs 17-2 on the Landry field.

Ethan Fraser pitched three innings for the giving up two hits, six walks, and striking out six batters. Nolan McNally pitched the final three innings for the Lions, giving up one hit, two walks, and striking out five batters.

McNally led the Lions with two doubles and one RBI, followed by Ryan Oderkirk, Colton Hache, Austin Dickie and Reece MacDonald with one single each.

Ryan Wilson pitched three innings for the Cubs, allowing four hits, five walks, and striking out five batters. Jaxon Reynolds pitched the final three innings, giving up one hit, three walks and striking out seven batters.

Reynolds hit two singles and Kieran Sears hit one single for the Cubs.

Monday

On Monday, the Mixers beat the Lions 2-1 on the Sonny Foster Field.

Beed pitched for the Mixers, giving up three hits, two walks, and striking out 12 batters.

Hayden Crocket and Aiden McBurnie hit one single each for the Mixers.

Reese MacDonald pitched for the Lions, giving up two hits, four walks, and striking out nine batters.

MacDonald, Ben Davis and Nolan McNally hit one single each for the Lions.

On the Landry field, it was the Cubs beating the Y’s Guys 13-5, with Kieran Sears giving up five hits, seven walks, and striking out 15 batters for the Cubs.

Will Allen hit one double for the Cubs, scoring two RBI’s.

The Y’s Guys used four batters, Jesse Goodwin, Caleb Oulton, Ashton VanSnick, and Aiden MacAloney. They combined to give up one hit, 25 walks, and struck out 10 batters.

Goodwin hit one triple and three singles, MacAloney a double, and Mason Sloan a single. Goodwin has three RBI’s and MacAloney one.
