AMHERST – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers beat the St. Stephen Aces 2-1 Saturday night at Amherst Stadium.

The Ramblers led 1-0 after the first period off a goal from Brock McEwen. Matt Sartoris assisted on the goal.

The Aces tied the game 1-1 at 4:46 into the second period, but Brady Griffin-Hefford gave the Ramblers a 2-1 lead with 2:42 left in the second. The goal was scored on the power play and assisted by Will Bower.

There was no scoring in the third period.

Goaltending

Joel Goguen played in net for the Ramblers, stopping 26 of the 27 shots he faced. The Ramblers had 39 shots on Aces goaltender Jack Grant.

Standings

The win gives the Ramblers 50 points, four points behind the South Shore Lumberjacks and seven points behind the Yarmouth Mariners in the Eastlink South Division.

Upcoming Games

The Ramblers have three road games this coming week.
On Thursday they are in Lunenburg to face the Lumberjacks, and then they’re in Yarmouth for a doubleheader against the Mariners on Friday and Saturday.
