AMHERST, N.S. – The Amherst Regional High School JV Vikings won their home tournament Jan. 29, with a 63-45 win over the Lockview High School Dragons.

Jordan Janes led the Vikings in the championship win with 19 points, followed by 10 points by Morgan Melvin, seven from Jaya Pardy, six from Haley Landry and Lauren Bailey, five by Ripley, four from Hillary Mapplebeck and Bree Young, and two from Sydney Blanch.

The JV’s made it to the championship game with a 49-40 win over Charlottetown.

Janes scored 14 points, Bailey seven, Mapplebeck and Ripley six each, Pardy five, Melvin four, Héloise Ruidant with three, and Young and Emma Black with two each.
