AMBA girls go undefeated at provincial championships

TRURO, N.S. – With a 36-18 win over Cape Breton, the Amherst Minor Basketball Association U12 girls captured the Basketball Nova Scotia provincial championship win on March 17 in Truro.

The girls went undefeated at the U12 Division 4 championship.

Sadie Harrison scored 11 points in the championship game, Addison Dill seven, Chase Codling six, Lauren Mosher and Reese LeBlanc four each, and Jorja Spicer and Jordyn Wolfe with two each.

The girls opened the tournament with a 54-29 win over the Mainland Express.

Scorers included Wolfe with 11 points, and Reagan Bushen, Harrison and LeBlanc with eight points each.

In their second game, the girls beat the Cape Breton Capers 44-23.

Spicer scored 10 points, LeBlanc nine, Harrison and Wolfe six each, Codling and Bushen with four each, and Dill and Shears with two each.

In Sunday’s crossover game, AMBA beat the Fall River Rebels 47 to 17.

Spicer scored 12 in the win, LeBlanc eight, Harrison and Wolfe six each, Dill four, Mosher and Codling with two each, and Bushen and Isabelle Shears with one point each.
