Downshore Christmas Market on Nov. 30

Hello from beautiful downtown New Salem.

I hope you have all had a wonderful week. Well it looks like the colder weather is here to stay along with snow flurries etc. Maybe with the Christmas season coming up it won't seem so bad.

The Downshore Christmas Market will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Log Building on Mills Road in Advocate Harbour on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Come and see the great baking, Christmas Items and more and have a coffee or tea and snack with an old friend or make a new friend. Don't forget to shop local for Christmas.

On Saturday, Nov. 30 an Open Mic will be held at the Advocate Fire Hall at 7 p.m. There will be a canteen and 50/50.

is a great evening of wonderful music by some very talented musicians, well worth attending. Donation at the door and proceeds are for the Advocate & District Volunteer Fire Department.

There will be a puppet show at the Advocate School on Wednesday, Nov.4 from1 to 2 p.m.

On Friday, Dec. 6 Advocate Community Bingo will be held at the Advocate Fire Hall at 7 p.m.

Come on out for an evening of fun.

On Saturday, Dec. 7, there will be a community Christmas party at the Log Building from 1 to 3 p.m.

Bring the kiddies, your family and friends for an afternoon of treats and fun.

Dave Baker & Friends will be doing a Christmas Concert at the Log Building on Mills Road at 7:00. Goodwill Offering at the Door. There will be a 50/50 and canteen available.

On Tuesday, Dec. 10 the annual Christmas Party at Chignecto Manor will be held at 7 p.m. Come and enjoy an evening of Christmas music with Bucky & Friends.

Lego Mania at the Advocate Library from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12. Come in and get your creative juices flowing with our LEGO. Pre-Requisite Grades P-6

On Saturday, Dec. 14, Leighann Melanson will be having a Holiday Turkey Dinner at the Log Building on Mills Road in Advocate Harbour from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Cost is Adults: $12, Children under 12: $6 and Preschoolers: $3.

On the menu will be turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, carrots, turnip, peas, rolls, gravy, strawberry shortcake, juice, tea and coffee.

Proceeds are for the A.D.D.A.

On Thursday, Dec. 19 we will be having a Holiday Party at the Advocate Library from 3 to 4 p.m. Join us for games, stories, crafts and lots of Holiday Cheer! Pre-Requisite Grades P-6.

Don Fletcher is doing guided tours to the Three Sisters area from Saturdays to Thursdays. You can contact Don at 902-392-2727. Donations to the Geopark would be appreciated.

Tai Chi is being held at Chignecto Manor on Thursday evenings at 7.

Meals on Wheels operates from Bayview Health Centre and has an increase in customers and are looking for volunteers.

Meals are delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. If you can help deliver or would like to receive this service call the Health Centre at 902-392-5400: the kitchen at extension 6035 or the office extension 5402.
