It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Warren Matthew Brown Jr., 82, of Truemanville, NS, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Born in Leicester, Warren was a son of the late Warren Sr. and Muriel (Tully) Brown. Warren worked in the woods with his father. In his younger years, he worked for Chisholm Construction, building the Causeway from Nova Scotia to Cape Breton and in Newfoundland. He worked with ABC Heating in Amherst for sixteen years. He started W.M. Brown Burner Service where he would work until his retirement at sixty-five. Warren enjoyed living in the country, fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed rebuilding and restoring antique engines and was an avid snowmobiler in his younger years. He will be dearly missed by his wife of fifty-nine years, Doris (nee Rafter), Truemanville, NS; sons, Darren (Charlene Allen), Amherst, and Aarren (Michelle), Amherst; daughters, Melody Brown, Waterloo, ON, and Crystal (Rod) Dupuis, Amherst; nine grandchildren, Adam, Carl, Alisa, Carey, Vanessa, Valerie, Christopher, Deanna, and Connor; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Terry (Dorothy), Clarence (Bonnie), and Robin (Mary), and sisters, Winnifred (Scotty), Cheryl, and April, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Warren was predeceased by a brother, Wade. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst. Honouring Warren's wishes, cremation has taken place and a time of visitation will be held from the Funeral Centre on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will take place from the Jones Family Funeral Centre on Saturday at 2 pm. Donations in memory of Warren may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
