CORNEY, Marilyn Patricia It is with great sadness that the family of Marilyn Patricia Corney, age 78 of Amherst, announce her passing on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late H. Borden and Kathleen (Cahill) Pye. Marilyn loved cooking, baking and spending time in her gardens. Marilyn will be greatly missed by her husband, Wayne of 58 years; son, Peter Todd of Dartmouth; sister, Diane (Doug) Bacon of Nappan; brother in-law, David (Donna) Corney of Moncton and sister in-law, Caroline (Melvern) Chapman of Richmond, NS, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her brother, Gerald Pye. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church Street, Amherst (902) 667-9906. Following Marilyn’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A private graveside service will take place in the Lorneville Cemetery at later date. Memorial contributions in Marilyn’s memory can be made to the First Baptist Church, Amherst or a charity of your choice.
