Hazel Jenetta Parsons

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Hazel Jenetta Parsons, age 98, with family by her side. Hazel passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Amherst, N.S., she was a daughter of the late George and Claira (Arengburg) Mitchell. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Amherst Branch #10. She is survived by her three grandchildren Donald, Richard and Dawn, 7 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence; son Lawrence; siblings Ethel Leonard, Phyllis Baxter, Lillian Boudreau, Joseph Mitchell and Raymond Mitchell. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, N.S. (902-667-8777). In keeping with Hazel's wishes, there will be no service. She will be interred by family in the Mapleton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
