Cora Elizabeth Chappell

CHAPPELL, Cora Elizabeth We are saddened to announce the passing of Cora Elizabeth Chappell age 96 of Amherst on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Tidnish, she was the daughter of late Corey and Leona (Trenholm) Chappell. Aunt Cora had fond memories of growing up on the Joe Burt road. She enjoyed working at the Bank of Commerce, Amherst. She was very proud of being the owner of the Tantramar Motel, Fort Lawrence. Aunt Cora will be remembered by her niece, Marilyn (Barry) Larsen; nephews, Stephen (Barb) Chappell, Gary (Mary-Lou) Chappell and Colin (Bernie) Chappell; sister- in-law, Betty Chappell; great nieces and nephews; and cousin, Marilyn Trenholme Counsell and special friends, Stephen and Marie Ripley as well as Alice and Bob Duxbury. Besides Aunt Cora’s parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Kenneth, Lyle, Lawrence, Marion Simpson and Eva-Marie Chappell. The family would like to give special thanks to Gables Lodge for their kind and compassionate care shown to Aunt Cora. Following Aunt Cora’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside ceremony at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906. Donations may be made in Aunt Cora’s memory to the Residents Council At Gables Lodge.
