Bernice I. Welton

Bernice I. Welton, age 78, of Parrsboro passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at home. Born in Middleboro, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Wendell and Kathleen (Howard) O’Brien. Bernice was actively involved in the operation of the Crossroads Blueberry Co-op, as well as her church and community. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Ernie; sons, Mike (Pat), Gary (Kristy), all of Parrsboro; sisters, Louise Gilbert (Ronald), Lakelands; Maureen MacAloney (Leroy), New Glasgow; Marsha Wilbourn (Rick), Abercrombie; Karen Smith (Lloyd), Parrsboro; brother, Frank (Donna), Parrsboro; grandchildren, Cody, Luke (Ashley), Ethan (Tara), Liam, Ava; great-granddaughter, Maddie; numerous nieces and nephews. Also, her special aunt, Ruth Dupuis, Parrsboro. She was predeceased by a brother, Wendell; step-father, Allison Warren; step-mother, Ruby O’Brien. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Keith Selwyn-Smith.
