 J, Burke, 68 years of age, of Tidnish Crossroads, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late, Elmo & Margaret (Bugley) Burke. Barry loved the outdoors, 4 wheeling, boating, fishing, hunting. He enjoyed
J, Burke, 68 years of age, of Tidnish Crossroads, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late, Elmo & Margaret (Bugley) Burke. Barry loved the outdoors, 4 wheeling, boating, fishing, hunting. He enjoyed golfing and loved hockey and watching his boys play when they were younger. He loved his family and his black lab Gunner. He worked for Ducks Unlimited for over 30 years. Barry will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret; sons, Tim (Patti) of Hastings, NS, Bernie ( Allison) of Amherst, NS, Christina Burke ( Brian McHugh) of Fredericton; sister Robin Fage (Steve) of Hastings, NS; grandchildren, Brandon, Brody, Makayla, nieces Stephanie Small, Jennifer Scollard, nephews Elliot Fage & Jim Trenholm; cousins, Lorna & Reg Chapman, Vicky & Alan Hardy; specials friends, Fred Steeves, Joe Harvey, Ken Eagle, Irvin Brewer, Jim Giffin & Jimmy Long; his extended Ducks Unlimited family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his cousins, Philip Burke, Billy Kirby, Renee McPhee. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). The family received visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2 p.m. Burial to take place in the Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the L.A. Animal Shelter.
