Barbara Marie Patton

PATTON, Barbara "Marie" It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara “Marie” Patton, age 65, of Amherst on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 in the comfort of her own home, after a long battle with Kidney Disease. Born in New Glasgow, NS, she was a daughter of the late Salter and Ruth (Turnbull) Patton. Marie’s life’s work was caring for other people. After graduating high school she worked at a daycare centre, moving on to working at the School for the Deaf in Amherst. She went back to college to become a VON caretaker until her health failed, forcing her to retire. Following Marie’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will a private graveside service held in the Amherst Cemetery. Donations can be made in Marie’s memory to the Kidney Foundation or the Cumberland Cancer Assistance Fund.
