An employee at the Michelin tire plant in Waterville was taken to hospital Sunday after he was injured on the job.
Sources say the worker became caught up in a piece of equipment, and suffered broken bones and burns. He was later airlifted to hospital in Halifax.
The Department of Labour wasn’t offering many details Tuesday.
“We can confirm that a workplace incident occurred on Randolph Road in Waterville on Sunday,” the department said in an email.
It said the department is inspecting the site, but a stop-work order has not been issued.
The investigation is continuing, the department said.
