SPRINGHILL, N.S. – A 36-year-old man from Springhill was fined $2,422.50 after police clocked him speeding at 180 km/h on Highway 104, near the Exit 5 Springhill connector.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. on Nov. 28.
The driver attempted to evade RCMP as there was dense fog in the area.
His vehicle was located after he lost control and struck a guardrail at Exit 5.
The man fled on foot but was arrested a short time later without incident.
His vehicle was seized and he will appear in Amherst Provincial Court on Feb. 4 to face the following five charges:
– Flight from Police
– Driving Motor Vehicle While Privilege of Obtaining License is Revoked
– Driving Motor Vehicle Without Motor Vehicle Liability Policy
– Stunting
– Failing to Drive Motor Vehicle in Careful and Prudent Manner
