UPPER NAPPAN, N.S. – Marijuana cultivation may soon be coming to Roslin, which is located about 10 kilometres northeast of Oxford.
Jerome Draheim submitted a letter to county council on Jan. 9, requesting a letter of support to go along with his application to Health Canada.
The letter reads, in part, “I am in the process of applying for a Health Canada license to become a Micro Grow Cultivator of cannabis at my farm located in Roslin, Cumberland County. I will be limited to a growing area of 200 square metres outdoors and will be selling dried cannabis to larger producers licensed by Health Canada.”
Draheim’s does not need a letter of support from the county to apply for a license but, if he hopes to be approved, he does need to send notice of his intentions to the municipality, the RCMP, and he local fire department.
Council passed a motion to provide the letter of support.
During the council meeting, it was pointed out that Breathing Green Solutions, a licensed marijuana cultivator located in Wentworth, has submitted letters to the county, police and fire services providing information about their operations.
