DARTMOUTH, N.S. — A teenage boy was shot in Dartmouth on Tuesday morning.
Halifax Regional Police responded to a weapons call on Courtney Road at about 10:55 a.m. The boy was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg that isn't life-threatening.
Courtney Road has been closed to traffic as police investigate. The public has been asked to stay out of the area.
Police could be seen checking around the apartment building at 5 Courtney Rd., and were also gathered around the building next door. A dog unit and a police officer who appeared to be using a metal detector were also at the scene.
By early afternoon, officers had removed the police tape blocking off the street and had added tape around 11 Courtney Rd., where an officer was guarding the door.
