GLENHOLME, N.S. — Residents still without power in the Glenholme area are being offered the use of showers and fresh water fill-ups at the Glenholme Loop Petro Pass service centre.

“She just offered it up yesterday,” Prep cook Shanna Burns told the Truro News on Monday afternoon of the courtesy provided by owner Crystal Blair.

“She’s been doing it for years, anytime there is an outage or disaster.

The centre, which also serves as a truck stop, has two showers and Burns said towels, soap and “an unlimited supply of water” are available for anyone who is still without electrical services or access to fresh water.

The centre is open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m.

At about two p.m. Monday the Nova Scotia Power website was reporting that more than 188,000 customers were still without power across the province.

Around 2 p.m., the site summary showed there were nearly 3,000 customers in the greater Tatamagouche area and more than 1,500 in Truro without power.
