PICTOU, N.S. — A Pictou County man charged in Sept. 27 stabbing incident on Viola's Way appeared in Pictou Provincial Court on Sept. 30.

Jordan McIntyre, 21 will be remanded to custody until his bail hearing scheduled for Oct. 2.

McIntyre was charged on the morning of Sept. 27 with two counts each of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, and for possession of a weapon.

The victims are a 42-year old male and a 24-year old male, and both from Pictou County.

Both were taken to the Aberdeen Hospital with serious injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 27.

“The suspect and the victim(s) were known to each other and this is not considered a random act,” said New Glasgow Regional Police Const. Ken Macdonald in a news release on Sept. 27.

The incident is still under investigation by the New Glasgow Regoinal Police Major Crimes Unit.
