SACKVILLE, NB - Construction is under way on a massive freezer facility on the site of the former Burnbrae egg plant in Sackville’s industrial park. The facility is being built by Terra Beata Farms, Atlantic Canada’s biggest processor and exporter of cranberries based out of Lunenburg, N.S.

Evelyn Ernst, co-founder of Terra Beata, said construction is in its early stages and the facility will provide much-needed cold storage space for their cranberries to be stored and cleaned right away. Terra Beata not only processes and markets their own berries but also processes products from other growers in the Maritimes.

Next to the freezer facility on the site is the former egg processing plant, which was re-opened in August when East Coast Wild Blueberries used the building for cleaning and freezing their berries. Terra Beata is currently using the building for similar purposes for cranberries.
