A man has been arrested after a standoff in Dartmouth on Friday evening.
The 30-year-old was taken into custody after police responded to a report at about 5:40 p.m. that a man was causing damage at an apartment building on Highfield Park Drive.
When Halifax Regional Police officers went to speak to the man he refused to open the door and indicated to police he was armed with a knife.
Crisis negotiation officers and HRP’s emergency response team also responded to the scene.
The man was arrested just after 10 p.m. The investigation is in its early stages and more information will be released, police said in a news release Friday night.
